From Seed to Success: Our Journey

Our history is what really sets us apart. As local growers, we have experienced firsthand many of the challenges that come along with the very unpredictable and rewarding career of growing crops. So, we set out on a mission to start giving more power and control back to our growers. Growing success together will always remain our top priority.

The first major breakthrough was a polymer coating that significantly extended the shelf life of peat inoculant beyond the traditional 24 hours. This innovation gave growers enough time to seed while ensuring the product's viability remained. We then developed the first PROCOATER Treater with a PLC capable of perfecting application rates and drying times. This machine enabled simultaneous application of all necessary products per seed variety and allowed for a load-and-go system, treating seeds directly from bins to trucks.

Our expertise in maximizing efficiencies soon emerged, focusing on allowing growers to concentrate on planting. We progressed to supplying precision-applied products, reducing unnecessary waste and relieving growers of the stress of overbuying or dealing with unused inputs. As the industry evolved, we began offering new product portfolios, like Verdesian's Nutrient Use Efficiency Products, aligning with our philosophy of enhancing efficiency through science and innovation for better returns to growers.

For two generations, the Schumacher family has spearheaded IAP's innovations and growth. Their commitment and vision have been pivotal in shaping IAP's journey. Starting from humble beginnings with just two individuals operating a single seed treater in spring, we have grown steadily to over the years and now treat over 500,000 bushels annually.
